I played in a mixed doubles group with Vaught. The dues were $4 plus BYOB(bring your own balls). Vaught never paid and skipped out before the other matches ended each time. He never paid plus never brought a new can of balls for his matches. He lost most of his matches. Not surprised though since he is a BIG LOSER anyway.
I can only remember that Vaught had a severe temper, cussing and cheating on his line calls. He wasn't fun to play with. I overheard someone talking about him. They said that his temper flares, he can get quite verbally abusive to people around including women. Something was also said about him being harsh to little innocent children. That is about all I know about him.
i was the one that posted on another blog about vaught and i will say it again. i played in that mxd dbls group and found out that vaught was usually the weaker player on the court. kinda understand why he plays with the women because they're the women are the only ones that he can compete with. i understand after reading here that he is running for a woman's position. makes sense to me....

As one of the women who played with Mark Vaught in a mixed doubles league I feel like I should toss in my two cents. Mixed doubles and doubles period are about keeping your partner upbeat and positive. Normally the man carries the woman but no matter if you lose the point you always high five and stay positive and keep your partner upbeat. It's just customary.
Mark doesn't know this evidently. Im not a pro or anything but I try my best on the court no matter who I'm playing with. I like to have a fun and an enjoyable experience. NOT the case with Mark. I felt like I was walking on eggshells, not a tennis court. He blamed every point we lost on me and I was scampering all over trying to get to balls he should have knocked off. There were no high fives, only lectures from him. I finally couldn't take it anymore. After leaving the court and having been verbally berated so much and told what a horrible player I was I couldn't take it any more. I left the court in tears. I cried the whole way home. It was awful. Worse than awful. I've never before or since had someone treat me like that in my entire life. All I can say is I feel very sorry for his wife.
I repeated this post elsewhere but thought it needs repeating because of Vaught's falsehoods.... Mark Vaught acts like a conservative but is really a big spending liberal. That's why the city budget is so screwed up. Vaught added additional funds to the city's general fund with extra restaurant taxes under the disguise of the Advertising/Promotion trick. Then Vaught even overspent the revenues. Clearly a Tax & Spend move.
Vaught acts conservative to get votes but according to the definition of "conservative" according to the Webster Dictionary Vaught is NOT CONSERVATIVE. Conservative means "preservative", the power to preserve, protect, keep safe. Vaught failed to preserve, protect, and keep safe the city finances and caused the biggest budget shortfall in the history of Conway.
I hope the voters let everyone know that Mark Vaught is a lousy party candidate and people are not going to vote along party lines. Candidates should be elected on 1. Job Performance 2. Character. Vaught's job performance was poor at the city level! Vaught's character is poor!
I agree on the issue-regardless of party affiliation if a thief is running for office, voters should not vote for him no matter what party he is involved with.
The political party that Vaught is affiliated with should have checked into his record and character mote and come up with a better candidate. Not like better would'e been hard to find. I'm very fiscally conservative and Vaught's irresponsibility of handling of the city's treasury has me extremely ticked off!!! Thanks for letting the public know of this PHONY!!!
Vaught is not a happy camper to be around.Someone said that he can fly off the handle easily,verbally abuse women, and pop off racial slur. Not a good choice of character!

John L. believed Vaught's story that Vaught was an expert in playcalling. The fans and John L. Found out differently with the disappointing loss to LA-Monroe......The citizens of Conway are suffering from a similar defeat from Vaught presenting himself as a guru in city gmt. Conway suffered tremendously from Vaught's mismanagement of city finances!!!
Vaught and the city are being sued by Employees of the Conway Police Department and the Conway Fire Department. Richard Shumate and Damon Reed initiated the suit because Vaught etal unlawly used and allocated voluntary salary improvement tax from a 1/4 sales tax. These people have been dealing with Vaught's ignorance for a number of years. Ask them about his low IQ. They will verify it.
. A new financial debaucle facing the city of Conway involves the new airport funding. Mark Vaught and the other city councilmen have to come up with twice the funding on the airport than originally budgeted. Another disaster to the city finances on the horizon. Poor financial planning by Vaught on the new airport is going to stress the budget even worse. The stupidest forecasting in the airport financing that Vaught approved is the item where new hangars are paid for by the sale of the old hangars. $$$ of New Hangars DOES NOT EQUAL $$$ of Old Hangars!!!! No wonder the budget is screwed up by Vaught!!!

Mark Vaught drew the biggest laughter at a tea party event and made an "a$$" of himself proposing more absurd spending measures- Quote the Log Cabin, "The loudest laughter came when Conway Alderman Mark Vaught asked how the city and county could work together better, perhaps combining to build a city-county administration building, and JP Steve Goode said “Yeah, with the county paying 100 percent.” No wonder the city is upside down!!!!

The article by the Log Cabin reporter Becky Harris could be the smoking gun that derails Vaught's campaign. What an idiotic statement to make at a tea party meeting!!! If you give an individual time to talk long enough, you give them time to show their ignorance. I can't believe that Vaught would be proposing another expenditure such as a new administration building knowing that the city is upside down right now, especially in front of the tea party group! The whole crowd laughed at his stupidity.
I am a tea party supporter in Faulkner County and am really disappointed in the candidates that they are supporting. David Crow and Janet Crow recently moved into Faulkner Couhty with good intentions in helping the Republican Cause but are not familiar with the quality of character that the individuals in the area represent. David and Janet Crow will support any candidate that claims they are Conservative or Republican when their character displays otherwise. We might need to replace David and Janet Crow as head of the Faulkner County Tea Party with someone more attuned to our area!!!!
Just found this on the web and recognized some of these names here, mostly some Faulkner County politicos. LMAO...The big news that is hitting the local TV and radio stations is the $130,000 Christmas tree in Conway. It seems that the mayor, Tab Townsell, refused to shop this expensive purchase in which he could have saved the taxpayers $50,000 had he shopped this around a little.
Mayor Townsell has done a few good things for the city. But as other mayors do he attends workshops and events to gather ideas and brings them back to Conway. Townsell will act like these ideas were his own.
What these politicians need is more workshops in public service- Class 101-HOW TO BE A SERVANT TO THE PUBLIC, Class 102- BEING A STEWARD OF THE TAXPAYER'S MONEY, Class 103- GOVERNMENT ETHICS, Class 104- TRANSPARENCY, etc.

Probably not... his last election was a very slim margin for him considering that he had two opponents that split the Anti-Tab vote against him. If Townsell had just one opponent, it would have been a closer race and his positives and negatives in his image could been evaluated better.
Ditto on the openly gay issue. Townsell has too many negatives besides adding a coming out of the closet issue. This is not a San Fransisco voting district or a Barney Frank area.
These comments kinda make sense after typing in Tab Townsell in the goggle search engine. When I type in his name, immediately comes up Tab Townsell divorce or Tab Townsell gay. A lot of people have been doing a search on him.
Townsell has said that this mayoral term is his last. So he probably won't be running for any office soon. The Democrats might be desperate for a candidate to run for some position and call on him. The Dems will have to throw some money in his direction to get him to run. However, a rout to a Republican will label him as a loser and his political career will be over!
Hey guys, the $130,000 Christmas tree story made it to the Dave Elswick Show on KARN. The program guests were Nic Horton of the Arkansas Project and some Tea Party reps. The guests mentioned that even your own Conway resident and Alderman Wesley Pruitt basically was proud of his wasteful spending of taxpayer's monies. Pruitt told taxpayers that if they didn't like his stupid tax and spend measures of the Hamburger tax then don't eat at McDonalds, Wendy's , Arby's, or any restaurant that collect our taxes for the city. I'm NOT GOING TO LET PRUITT PREVENT ME FROM EATING OUT .....I'm GOING TO THROW THAT WESLEY PRUITT OUT OF OFFICE!!!

JUST NOSY says ......that Conway citizens have been contacting their alderman on their lack of careful spending of taxpayer's monies. Almost every alderman has responded to the taxpayer's concerns by stating that they are not interested in their opinion about how the A&P funds were misspent. They say that if they had the chance to make the decision on the lack of bidding on the Christmas tree all over again, they would make the same decision.
The Christmas tree fiasco was created by the same councilmen that caused the budget woes for the city of Conway. The mayor and alderman acted remorseful before election time and got reelected. This recent boondoggle with the tree purchase should show the taxpayers that the council wasn't truly sincere with changing their reckless spending ways.

From the Log Cabin Democrat-Pruitt received 130 votes to Knight’s 120 votes. The final race, which was originally among three candidates, is for Ward 2, Position 1.
Only 250 people cared to vote in the runoff with only 130 people caring about Pruitt!
